Waxworms are the soft, white larvae of the greater wax moth. They are widely used as a feeder insect because of their high fat content and irresistible taste to reptiles, amphibians, fish, and birds. While they are not suitable as a staple feeder, waxworms make an excellent occasional treat or a way to stimulate picky eaters to start feeding.
