Height:

Size: Peperomia “Watermelon” typically grows to about 6-12 inches in height and can spread around 8-10 inches wide. It has a compact growth habit, making it ideal for small or medium-sized vivariums and terrariums.

Lighting:

Light Requirements: This plant thrives in bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate lower light levels, it will grow more slowly, and the vibrant colors of the leaves may diminish.

In Palladium/Terrarium: Use a full-spectrum lightsuitable for plants. If the setup has a lot of natural light, keep the plant a bit further away from direct light sources to prevent leaf scorch.

Maintenance:

Pruning: Peperomia “Watermelon” does not require heavy pruning but can benefit from occasional trimming to remove dead or damaged leaves. You can also trim leggy growth to encourage denser growth.

Humidity/Watering:

Humidity: Peperomia “Watermelon” enjoys moderate to high humidity (50%-70%). In a palladium or terrarium, it will likely thrive, but avoid overly wet conditions.

Watering: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. This plant is sensitive to overwatering, so ensure the substrate drains well and doesn’t stay soggy. Overwatering can lead to root rot, which Peperomia is prone to. Use a well-draining mix like cactus or succulent soil to prevent excess moisture retention.

General Care Tips:

Keep an eye on the leaves. If they begin to yellow or droop, it could indicate overwatering or insufficient light.

Ensure the temperature is within 65-80°F (18-27°C), as the plant prefers moderate warmth and will not thrive in extreme cold or heat.

With the right balance of light, humidity, and watering, Peperomia “Watermelon” can thrive in a palladium or terrarium, adding a unique, attractive element to your setup.
